If you like the original green slime, this hack is obviously not for you. The developers have mentioned so in interviews. It is more in lieu with what the original developers had in mind, but Namco could not approve due to the strict censorship at the time. Just fix the bad checksum with the tool above, then patch it, that’s it.Īnyway, this is a straight forward hack that simply replaces the green-colored “blood” with the more appropriate red blood.
I can’t do anything from my end, the problem is not my patch, but with the ROM dumped online.
Thanks to Retroplay for bringing this to my attention and finding a solution. All there is to do if your patch fails to apply, is to use this tool to fix checksum in the rom before applying your patch: I will put this right up top: the most common dump of the Japanese version of this game has a bad checksum.
